Names have been retracted to protect confidentiality.

County: Roanoke County
Sighting Date:
Location:up on the mountains, North from Roanoke
Physical Traits: didn`t see it.
Activity:Collecting fire wood.
Setting:I was 15 when this happened. I`ll never forget it. I went up to my friends house one evening, when we decided to go get Fire wood(it was about to turn dark). Ben (friend) went and got his dog, and we started to go down the hill where the wood was kept. That`s when Ben looked at me and asked,"do you hear that?" I replied back that I didn`t hear anything. He told me that he`d been living up in those woods for 3 years and it never broke silence, unless a predator was near by. We waited for a couple minutes and didn`t hear any branches brake, or unusual sounds. So we decided to keep moving. We got to the big stack pile of fire wood, when we heard 3 distinct knocks about 50 yards ahead of us. That`s when his Dog started to go nuts. She whined, and walked in circles as if she knew something we didn`t know that`s when she took off back towards the house. Ben screamed at her to come back and chased after her.(I watched a documentary about Bigfoot one time and they use tree knocks to communicate) That`s when I picked up a fairly large stick and gave the same amount of knocks on a tree next to me. I Then heard a whistle behind me, but when I turned around nothing was there. My whole body shook, and got goose bumps. I ran quickly up the hill back towards the house. I never been so scared in my life. look, I don`t know what it was. I heard the legend of Bigfoot, and never believed in him, until that day. I never actually saw what it was, but it wasn`t a bear or a deer...The whistle sounded like a cross with a little girl scream and an animal. (I have no ideal how to explain it, or what this was)
Witnesses: My friend
